Fusionless Treatment for Scoliosis

The surgical treatment of scoliosis has been focused on correcting the curvature and obtaining a solid fusion of the growing spine, thereby halting further progression of the deformity and restoring acceptable spinal alignment.
The traditional surgical approach to scoliosis correction has the disadvantages of rendering large segments of the spine immobile, limiting the functionality of the spine and placing unfused spinal segments at greater risk for premature degeneration.
